Here at Mod Central, we live and breathe modified cars and when one of the co-founders buys something new, we love to share it with the community. This time, it’s Mark’s 2018 Audi S5, a great example of how a few carefully chosen mods can completely transform the look of a car. The B9 Audi S5 is already a serious bit of kit from the factory, with a powerful turbocharged V6, quattro and sharp coupe styling. But Mark has taken things up a level with a tasteful set of modifications aimed at improving both looks and sound.

Double Resonator Delete

One of the changes is the double resonator delete. The 3.0L turbocharged V6 in the S5 sounds fantastic, but Audi’s OEM exhaust setup muffles it far too much. Mark’s resonator delete frees up the exhaust, giving the car:
  • A deeper, more aggressive growl
  • Sharper crackles and pops in Dynamic mode
  • A fun place to be under acceleration
It’s the perfect mod for anyone who wants a sportier, more engaging exhaust note without drone and the cost of a full system.

Black Honeycomb Grille

One of the most visually impactful upgrades is the black honeycomb grille, inspired by the RS5. This grille completely changes the front-end look of the S5, giving it:
  • A meaner, sportier appearance
  • A cleaner, less horrible chrome front end

Dechrome & Black Mirror Covers

To complete the murdered-out look, Mark dechromed the entire car. That includes:
  • Window surrounds
  • Badges and trim
  • Black mirror covers
The result is a clean, aggressive look that gives the car an intimidating road presence, without going over the top. It’s a subtle yet powerful change. As you can tell we aren't a fan of chrome all over a car here.
