MMX BMW S55 Crank Hub Capture Plate (M2 Comp/M3/M4)
Description
MMX BMW S55 Crank Hub Capture Plate is an essential modification for the S55 engine. It's no secret that the S55 is prone to spinning its crank hub resulting in quite a hefty repair bill. Once the crank hub spins, the engines timing is completely thrown off resulting in the pistons hitting the valves and complete engine failure. A small investment in preventative maintenance could make all the difference!
As a preventative measure, MMX have developed this crank hub capture plate to secure the head of the OE crank bolt and prevent it from turning or being able to loosen. Secured to either the MMX one-piece crank hub or the OE crank hub, the elongated slots ensure a perfect, secure installation, every time.
There is no need to remove the engine to install this upgrade - simply drop the radiator in order to gain adequate access to install.
The capture plate is machined from T-6061 billet aluminium before being anodised in MMX's trademark finish. Combine this product with the MMX S55 crank hub kit for the most effective results.
