Drawing from CSF’s expertise and their best-selling BMW N54/N55 intercooler technology, the front face of this intercooler incorporates CSF’s exclusive rounded bar/plate design. This design innovation optimizes the airflow by allowing air to smoothly curve around the front bars instead of colliding and scattering as it would on a traditional flat-bar surface, thereby improving heat exchange efficiency.
The stepped-core design maximizes the available frontal area behind the front bumper and underneath the crash bar. This core protrudes upward in front of the A.C. condenser and closely aligns with the crash bar for both the Veloster N and i30 N models, ensuring optimal cooling performance without compromising vehicle fitment. Prototype testing and data acquisition with Bisimoto confirmed the decision to retain the OEM-sized inlet and outlet connections, which minimizes pressure drop despite the intercooler’s larger size.
